Sugaring???!!

Have you ladies tried Sugaring??? Well if not you are about to hear about it very soon!!

An old technique of Arab waxing that's been used since 1900BC has just become the new craze once again!!
We have seen salon's are now advertising it, coming in quite expensive it is the new "method of hair removal".

Now we all love waxing when done properly. It promises to last six/eight weeks and leaves you with a smooth finish unlike shaving!! And in all honesty "Nair" does the trick for about 10 seconds too, but if you are dark haired or course, you just need that extra helping hand.

So we've seen this "Sugaring" method a lot recently and after a few YouTube tutorials we've decided to try it out for ourselves. We are no waxing guru's but we do wax ourselves and don't usually attend a salon, so unsurprisingly  we were a little intrigued.....

Here's how we done it!
Firstly we measured two cups of sugar, a quarter cup of lime even though the ingredients advised lemon that's all we had and one cup of water.

Place the ingredients in a pot and let them simmer away. The mixture will eventually become golden in colour  and the consistency will be similar of honey. This is when you know it is ready for use.

Pour the mixture into a bowl, we suggest an old bowl so you can re-use it over time and then let it cool. Be careful in this process as you can really do damage if it spills. When the mixture cools a little it will start to harden. You can then re-shape the wax how ever you like and and re-heat it to the temperature desired. We decided to use the paper strips with this wax as we were a little experienced with this as opposed to just removing by hand.

The hair came away immediately and the after result was pretty impressive!! We simply lathered the mixture on, placed the strip over and removed with one swift pull. It took a few goes to get it right but eventually it worked out and we enjoyed trying this one out.

We recommend maybe trying"sugaring" in a salon for the first time but if you are a little daring then go ahead and heat it up!!
We love this method as it's cheap and effective and you can get the ingredients straight from your kitchen...

So go ahead ladies try this one out!! If not for you, it's taste sweet like caramel :)
